First, the marriage certificate can be obtained in the woman's registered residence
China's relevant laws and regulations stipulate that when both parties apply for marriage registration, they need to jointly apply for a marriage certificate at the civil affairs department of the place where one of them has a household registration. Therefore, the marriage certificate can be obtained at the location of the man's household registration, and can also be obtained at the location of the woman's household registration.
Second, the process of obtaining a marriage certificate
1. Choose a marriage registration location
You can only choose the civil affairs bureau where one of the parties is registered for marriage registration.
2. Register for appointment
If the civil affairs bureau for marriage registration has opened the online reservation function, you can enter the reservation registration page in advance before obtaining the certificate, select the civil affairs bureau where one of the parties is registered, and make an appointment for the appropriate registration time. If the local civil affairs bureau does not open an appointment service, you can go to the scene directly.
3. Go to register
If the reservation is successful, bring the materials to the registration office according to the appointment time. If you cannot make an appointment, bring the relevant materials directly to the registration office. After going to the Civil Affairs Bureau, you need to fill out a Declaration of Application for marriage Registration, confirm the information is correct, and sign it under the witness of the marriage registrar.
4. Staff review
The staff will review whether the documents carried by the couple are complete, whether there are any information errors in the forms filled in, and ask whether the two parties are not suitable for marriage in terms of their marriage intentions, mental conditions, and blood relatives.
5. Give registration results
After the examination, the registration formalities will be completed soon and the marriage certificate will be issued. If it is found that the marriage is not suitable after the review, the staff will explain to the couple, and the couple will handle it again at a later date.
