The marriage proposal usually arrives at the woman's house around 10am in the morning. In most regions, it is required to arrive at the bride's home before noon for marriage proposal, so that we can have lunch together at noon and show respect for the bride's home; Some regions also require the male party to arrive at the female party's home at 10am to propose and leave before noon. In some areas, betrothal ceremonies are held in the afternoon and dinner parties are usually held according to local customs.
Precautions for the groom before proposing marriage
1. How long ago did you propose marriage
Suggest about half a year.
2. How to bring up marriage:
① Please allow the groom to come and inquire with the bride's parents if they can come to propose marriage;
② The bride to be first tests her parents' intentions.
3. Before proposing:
Formally visit the parents of the bride, DRESS neatly, and politely inform them that you plan to get married. After obtaining their consent, confirm the date of the marriage proposal and inquire about the date and time that the bride's parents are available, showing respect.
4. Date of marriage proposal:
You don't need to look at the days of the ecliptic. It is not advisable to propose marriage in the first and seventh lunar months. On the double day of the lunar calendar, we propose marriage. Some elders like to have 6 days.
5. Date of marriage proposal:
The morning time cannot exceed 12 noon.
6. Number of proposed marriages:
It's best to have even numbers, 6 people (excluding children). Parents must attend (or a representative or influential figure from the family must attend)+groom to be, and for the older generation to propose, a matchmaker only needs to be present.
7. Accompanying gift:
Sweet things (not limited to a few), round cakes (representing that things can be round and full), apple gift boxes, expressing auspiciousness and happiness (pears cannot be bought). Accompanying gifts should be in even numbers, and when presented, the groom's parents can add a few words to show sincerity.
